History
Mataglapa is a region in Nicaragua in Central America. The regional capital goes by the same name and is known as “The Land Of Eternal Spring” due to the beautiful nature and the mild climate with all year round temperatures of 26-28 degrees Celsius. This is the reason why coffee production and eco tourism are widely-spread in the region.
Technology
The Barsito Matagalpa beans are hand-picked at an altitude of 850 to 1150 meters, immediately followed by sorting of the beans in water: The good, ripe fruits sink to the bottom, while the bad ones float at the surface and are removed. Then, the core of the coffee fruit is extracted through pressing in water with a special machine. This method is known as wet coffee processing.
Result
The result is a strong, flavourful coffee with exciting fruit nuances, chocolate taste and exotic citrus notes. Each of our Baristo Matagalpa coffee doses is individually foil-packed, in order to preserve its rich coffee aroma.
